María Mélida Fuentes, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and pillar of her family, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2025, in Maryland at the age of 77. Born on March 23, 1948, in El Salvador, Mélida carried the strength, resilience, and warmth of her homeland with her throughout her life.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Heriberto Fuentes, and her four daughters: Flor Fuentes (married to Lisandro Gomez, and their children Ariel Gomez and Valeria Gomez), Melida Fuentes (married to Jose Paz, and their children Eduardo Paz and Sebastian Paz), Cati Ortiz (and her children Alejandro Ortiz and Camila Ortiz), and Annie Fuentes (and her children Wilfredo Blanco and Nicolas Blanco). Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, who brought her endless joy and pride.

Mélida will be remembered for her unwavering love, quiet strength, and deep devotion to her family. Her life was a testament to care, sacrifice, and enduring faith, and her memory will be carried in the hearts of those who loved her.

Services will be held privately with her close family. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor her memory by cherishing your loved ones and holding them close.
