Beloved Martha Rose Vietri Mongato, 90 years young, has gone to our Father in Heaven on November 10, 2024. Martha was the daughter of Joseph Vietri and Madeline Clemente Vietri and the wife of Joseph Mongato Sr.

She is survived by her sister Marie Steding and brother Frank Vietri (Leslie). She was a loving mother of four sons: Vincent Mongato (Ginger) Florida, Joseph Mongato (Deborah) Florida, John Mongato (Lori) NY, and Anthony Mongato (Nicole Lake) NY. She has four grandchildren: Jennifer Kaljeskie (Jason), Amanda Deming (Daniel), Jillian Mongato (Nick Fenton), and Alissa Malloy (Christopher). She also has five great grandchildren: John, Vincenzo, Gabriella Kaljeskie, Lorelai Deming, and Benjamin Malloy; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband Joseph Mongato Sr; parents Joseph and Madeline Vietri; and siblings Pasquale Vietri, John Vietri, Josephine Vietri, and Jeanne Vietri.

Martha and her husband owned Mongato's Market and had a catering business for many years. Martha was a teacher's assistant at Tecler School and a cook at Vrooman's Hotel in Caroga Lake. She and her family enjoyed her beautiful place on Caroga Lake.

Martha had a strong faith and was a lifelong member of Saint Mary of Mount Carmel Church, a member of the women's society, and a member of Caroga Lake Senior's Club. Martha enjoyed cooking and especially baking delicious cookies and generously sharing them. She enjoyed cross stitching, quilting, crocheting, and making handmade gifts to share with her family and friends.

The family will receive relatives and friends for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Church of the Holy Spirit, 161 S. Main Street, Gloversville, NY 12078.
