Marina Gayle King, age 76, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2023. She gracefully battled ALS - Lou Gehrig’s Disease with a positive and loving attitude. She was born October 3,1946 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Reverend William Roy and Dorothy Moyers. Her parents preceded her in death, as well as, her sister, Helen Kyle and nephew, Grayson Mixon. Her beloved soulmate, Travis Roberts preceded her in death in 2022.
Her vocal gifts were shared early in life as she sang in church and accompanied her father to visit members of the congregation. She graduated from high school in Cotter, Arkansas and attended school at the College of the Ozarks gracing everyone with the intensity of her sweet voice.
She observed beauty in things of nature, repurposed items, then created her own pieces of art. Her hands were rarely still collecting flowers, leaves, rocks, and feathers. She also shared her love of nature and her creations with everyone she met.
For many years Marina worked as a social worker for SW Arkansas Development Council in Little River County. She directed two senior citizen centers and government sponsored programs to assist people within the area. Incorporating her love of people and creative arts, she touched many lives.
Marina is survived by her children Gina Meurer of Lubbock, Texas, Eric Woodlee of Las Vegas, Nevada, and grandchildren, William King and Emerson Elizabeth Meurer and her niece, Molly Burgess and husband, Berry.
