Margery B. Miller of Sun City Center, FL passed away on Monday, January 6, 2025. She was born in New York City to Edward and Antoinette Neinken and grew up in Great Neck, NY. She graduated from Great Neck North High School.
Her lifetime of adventures began when she traveled to Italy to marry Arnold Miller who was stationed in Florence while serving in the Army Corps of Engineers. Their wedding was held in Salzburg, Austria and officiated by an Army chaplain. While raising a family on Long Island, NY she volunteered over 40,000 hours at the North Shore University Hospital rising to the presidency of the auxiliary. She traveled the world with Arnold, who left us in 2015. They ventured to over 70 countries and all 7 continents, standing on the equator, visiting Antarctica, and spending an interesting evening on Komodo Island. They rode elephants In Nepal, saw the southern Alps in New Zealand, walked on glaciers, sailed down the Yangtze River, took their pictures at the Taj Mahal, rode camels in Morocco, rode the donkeys to see the sunset in Santorini, and made offerings to the Buddhist monks in Indochina, among many other adventures.
Margery is rejoined with her beloved sisters, Lois and Susie. She is survived by her son John and his wife Susie, of Crawfordville, Florida; son Robert and his wife Laurel of Charlotte, North Carolina; and her daughter Julie and her husband William King of Washington, Connecticut. She leaves 2 grandchildren, Wilson and Wyatt King. She is also survived by John's step-children Tom (wife Jennifer) and Cory and Tom's children Jaleah, Josiah and Sailor.
A memorial for Margery will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial donation to The Intrepid Foundation .
