Lela Holley Hopson

A lifelong educator, Mrs. Hopson passionately believed in the power of education and scholastic achievement, leaving a lasting impact on generations of students. Her wisdom, kindness and unwavering commitment to learning will be deeply missed. Mrs. Lela Holley Hopson, who departed this life on January 27, 2025, at the remarkable age of 107. Born on August 13, 1917, in Eutaw, Alabama, Mrs. Hopson lived a life of faith, service, and unwavering love for her family and community.

Mrs. Hopson was preceded in death by Husband, Eugene Hopson. She is survived by her three children, daughter Londary Benjamin of Birmingham, Al and two sons Eltawanna Williams and Gale Williams; both of Birmingham, Al. Mrs. Hopson is also survived by three grandchildren, Jennifer McElrath (Carlos McElrath), Sandra Benjamin, Daryn Naylor (Kay Naylor) all of Birmingham, Al. She has a host of great grandchildren.
