IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lawrence Robert
Mccloskey
August 11, 1961 – May 31, 2025
Lawrence Robert McCloskey, a lifelong resident of Gloversville, passed away on May 31, 2025 at 63 years old.
Born on August 11, 1961, at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Larry spent his life deeply rooted in the community he loved. A self-employed contractor for more than 35 years, he built friendships with everyone he encountered.
On July 14, 1984, Larry married the love of his life, Tracey McCloskey. Together they built a beautiful life centered around family. He was a proud and devoted father to his three sons—L.B.,(Sara) Ryan, and Chad (Kellie Perez-Allen) and an adoring grandfather to five grandchildren: Cullen, Spencer, Saige, Everly, and Cecilia. also survived by his mother-in-law, Marion Hodel, Sister’s Lisa(Richard) Crocetta, Kathleen(Vincent) Hall-Lanteri, brother Bobby Dawn McCloskey, his mother and father-in-law Herman and Grace Dimaio, brother-in-laws Michael (Rachel) Dimaio, Matt (Chrissy) Dimaio, several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father, Lawrence McCloskey, and one brother Michael McCloskey.
Larry had a passion for coaching and mentoring youth, having served as a Little League coach, Little Huskies coach, and as a proud Gloversville Huskies alumnus. He was a constant
presence on the sidelines, always cheering on his boys and later his grandchildren with pride and joy.
He found happiness in life’s simple pleasures: golfing with friends, relaxing at the beach, hosting backyard bonfires, barbecuing for family gatherings, and watching sports—especially when his boys were on the field.
Larry was the heart of his family—steadfast, loving, and always present. His dedication as a husband, father, and grandfather will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
