Laura was full of life, personality, and unmistakable spirit. She had a deep love for animals and created a true menagerie around her, always finding room in her heart and home for creatures big and small. She also had a passion for plants and a creative soul, often spending her time crafting and bringing beauty into the world in her own unique way.

Known for her strong will and determined nature, Laura was hard-headed in the best possible way. She had a gift for conversation and connection, someone who could truly “sell air to a fish,” and she left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Above all, Laura’s greatest love was her family. She is survived by her daughter, Kirstin Smith; her son, Johnathan Petrush; her son-in-law, Jimmie Smith; and her beloved grandchildren, Astrid Petrush, Sutton Smith, Wilder Smith, and Walker Smith. Her love for them was constant and unwavering, they were the center of her world.

Laura will be remembered for her fierce love, vibrant personality, undeniable presence, warmth and the humor she brought to the lives of those around her. Laura is now at peace, reunited with many loved ones who passed before her, most especially her son Tristin, who held her heart. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished and loved.
