It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Kathleen Pease, a devoted family member and cherished friend. Kathleen, known to her loved ones as ‘Taffy’, left this world suddenly on March 7, 2025 at home.

Born on January 24, 1962 in Long Branch, NJ; Taffy grew up to be a kind-hearted and compassionate individual who touched countless lives through her generosity and warmth. She was a truly a one-of-a-kind person that kept us all on our toes. She loved fiercely and was always the “fun” one.

She was predeceased by her husband Richard Pease; her parents Carol Hissom and James Piantanida as well as siblings Dian Stokey and James VanBrunt III.

Taffy is survived by her stepmother Maryann Piantanida; mother-in-law Jean Hansen; sisters Donna Girard and Dawn VanBrunt; sister-in-law Linda Hansen and brother James Piantanida Jr. Although she had no children of her own, she had plenty of nieces and nephews who adored her: Leanna Moes, Erica Mazza, Lauren Weaver, Dylan Rivera, Lisa Lacey, and Andrew Stokey and great-nieces & nephews: Adriana, Emma, Grace, Jayce, Jinx, Jaxson, and Ashlee. She will be deeply missed by her friends, colleagues, and everyone whose life she enriched. We love you to the moon and back, and back again.

A Celebration of life for Kathleen will be held at The Peter Cooper Village Community Center, 200 Forest St. West Long Branch, NJ on Friday March 21, 2025 at 5:30 pm. All are welcome.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to givesendgo.com/Taffy to ensure Kathleen’s family is able to provide her with a dignified farewell. Any excess donations will be donated to The Christopher Robert Foundation in her honor.
