Joseph Anthony Ealy

September 12, 1962 — August 5, 2025

Joe was the best brother as two sisters could have!

“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning" Psalm 30:5, speaks to the temporary nature of sorrow and the promise of eventual joy and restoration. What a mighty GOD we serve.

Joe Anthony Ealy, affectionately known as Tony, passed away on August 8, 2025 at the age of 63.

Tony joined the Army in 1982 and was assigned to the Infantry. He spent four years in the Infantry Division before receiving an honorable discharge. Joe was always a person full of love and joy. He possessed the qualities of a good son, brother, and uncle.

As a young child he would just come out of nowhere and just scary us and we would just laugh about it. Tony had a strong desire to become a professional baseball player; he spent hours on the field while our mother stood in the bleachers cheering him on. Tony's aspiration to become a professional baseball player was abruptly ended by a powerful blow to his head. Tony was determined to persevere through any difficulties or tragedies, and perseverance was his motto. Dirt biking was another thing Tony was passionate about. His pursuit of masculine pursuits always made our mother cringe. Nonetheless, his mother stood by him and supported him.

With age, Tony tended to live a quiet life, but when the chance presented itself, he would spend hours entertaining his nieces and nephews. Tony was our household's man, and while we will miss him, we will always remember him as our hero.

Tony leaves behind to mourn his mother, Pearlie Mae Patrick, and two sisters, Donna Jackson and Vicky Bailey. Nephews Corey Bailey, Jeremiah Bailey, and Keith Cole Hill: nieces Lakisha Jackson, Brandi Jackson, Mychal Bailey, Randi Bailey, and a host of great nieces and nephews.

Prayer:

"Heavenly Father, we come before you with hearts both heavy and hopeful. We thank you for the life of our loved one, for the time we shared, and for the love Tony brought into our lives. As he approach the end of his earthly journey, we ask for your presence to be with him, to bring him peace and comfort in his final moments.

We pray that you would forgive any sins he may have committed, and that he may be received into your loving embrace. Grant him eternal rest and let your perpetual light shine upon him. May he experience the joy of being reunited with those who have gone before him, and may he find everlasting peace in your presence.

We also pray for those of us left behind, that you would grant us strength and solace during this difficult time. Help us to remember the good times, to cherish the memories, and to find comfort in the knowledge that our loved one is now free from pain and suffering, dwelling in your heavenly kingdom.

We ask all of this in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen."
