On June 25th, 2024, Jonnie Vicino Treese passed away in Washington surrounded by the love of her beloved husband Michael and her beautiful daughter Elizabeth. After a long battle with cancer, Jonnie is finally at peace. She was 76 years old.
Jonnie is survived by her husband Michael, her daughter, Elizabeth and, her grandbabies, Lucca and Alessandra; her brothers Craig, Larry, and sister in-law Denise; and her nieces Emma, Noel and Haley. All of whom love and cherished her dearly.
Jonnie was born on February 15th, 1948 in Bristol, CT. She graduated from Charter Oak High School, CA in 1966. She went on to become the office manager of Financial Knowledge. However, she was most well-know for her work advocating for breast cancer reacher. Not only did she speak at the capital building in Sacramento, CA, but she spoke before Congress in DC and the National Institute of Health. She was also interviewed on 20/20 and 60 minutes. She was courageous, strong and full of grace.
Jonnie married Michael in 1981 and they were married for 43 amazing years. Though they would never agree on who picked up who, they met at a disco and three years later they were married. There are pictures of Jonnie cleaning the house in her wedding dress, because that's just who she was. In 1983 they welcomed their daughter Elizabeth and shortly after that Michael convinced Jonnie to sell their cute "Doily house" and move into a tiny shack in Los Gatos, CA. Together they built their dream house, over the next 37 years. (For a film reference of their life, it's somewhere between "It's a Wonderful Life" and "Up").
The most important things to Jonnie were her family and faith. She loved to go fly fishing with her husband. She loved to watch her daughter dance. She loved to cook with her granddaughter and listen to the wild imagination of her grandson. She looked forward every year to traveling down south for Thanksgiving to celebrate with her whole family. She loved to visit her high school friends in Las Vegas and reminisce about their crazy adventures. She loved photography, margaritas, traveling, wine, theatre, history, sailing and so much more.
Jonnie's heart was made of pure gold and she will always be remembered.
A celebration of life for Jonnie's life is scheduled for August 18th, 2024 at The Treese's Home in Woodinville. (For more details please view the events page.) The family asks that donations be sent to St. Jude Children's Hospital in lieu of flowers.
