Lifelong Gloversville resident John C. Rose, 74, passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at Nathan Littauer Hospital.

John was born on May 5, 1950, in Gloversville to the late Charles and Elsie (Manzer) Rose. He attended Gloversville High School and went on to enlist in the United States Navy. After he was honorably discharged, he began his lifelong career as a mechanic and electrician. His most recent employment was through Caleco, where he retired after over 30 years.

He was an active member of the American Legion and VFW. He also enjoyed online shopping and spending time with his family. His daughter Kelly recalls going out to ride scooters with her father as one of her best memories.

He was predeceased by his parents Charles and Elsie Rose, as well as his brother Charles Rose.

John is survived by his wife of 35 years Dawn Rose; daughter Kelly (Kathy) Cook and son John (Stacey) Rose; brothers James, Michael, and Robert Rose; sister Kim Boles; grandchildren Troy Hayes and Brooke Rose; great-grandchildren Chloe Hayes, Kalleigh Hayes, Braxton Gunnison Gabe Gunnison, Mayson Gunnison, Hunter Wooster, Tiffany Calhoun, and Matthew Calhoun; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

John's arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, NY 12078. In keeping with his wishes, there will be no services at this time.
