Jeannette Kaprove Rosenbaum

September 4, 1927 — February 22, 2024

Jeannette (Kaprove) Rosenbaum, 96, died Thursday, February 22, 2024, at Well-Spring Retirement Community. She was born September 4, 1927, in Buffalo, NY, daughter of the late Samuel and Ida Kaprove. She spent much of her young life in Buffalo with her parents, her two sisters Edith and Shirley and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins. She graduated from the University of Buffalo with a Master’s in Social Work. At the same time, she met the love of her life and husband, Robert Rosenbaum. They spent many years together doing what they enjoyed most – exploring the world, raising a family, and enjoying the simple pleasures of life. Jeannette was a devoted wife and mother, raising her two daughters, Lynn and Diane. Being a mother was the most important job in the world to her. This passion was only surpassed by her devotion to her grandchildren, who she spoiled endlessly. Her other great passion in life was her love for people. Jeannette was a devoted friend and a caring social worker who was always willing to listen and lend a helping hand. During her career at the Welfare Agency of Buffalo and the Family Services of Morris County, she took great pride in the impactful work she was able to do. She always made the children she worked with feel at ease by teaching them how to play Chinese Checkers. Over the course of her life, she was an active volunteer in many causes that were important to her including teaching English to new immigrants, fair housing, the PTA, the Girl Scouts, among others. Jeannette’s hobbies included art, gardening and good food. She believed no meal was complete without a good dessert, especially ice cream. She was particularly interested in her family’s genealogy. She did as much research as she could to learn more about her roots and the stories of her family’s journey to America. You could often find her at her writing club, doing puzzles, and enjoying the grounds and scenery at Well Spring. She is survived by her daughter Lynn and husband Richard Rossi, daughter Diane and husband Victor Reinhold, grandchildren Robert Reinhold and fiancée Tabitha Brown, Eric Reinhold, Robert and Alexia Rossi, and Sarah Rossi, and sister-in-law Maxine Libenson. Additionally, she is survived by her numerous nieces and nephews who she cared for greatly.
