Janet Kay Hammons

Janet Kay Hammons, 71, of Caldwell, died on Friday, November 11, 2011 at home. Janet was born in Giltner, Nebraska on February 5, 1940 to William & Laura (Mersch) Stiegemeier. She moved to Caldwell in 1955, and graduated from CHS in in 1957. In 1959 she married Larry Hammons in Caldwell. They were blessed with four children. Janet lovingly raised her family, and cherished her grandchildren. Janet and Larry enjoy traveling the back roads. Janet enjoyed bowling, growing roses, waching birds, and playing Bunco. She was part of the Caldwell Auxiliary “Pink Ladies” at West Valley Medical Center for many years. Janet is survived by her husband Larry Hammons of 52 years. Four children: Dwayne (Robin) Hammons, LeAnne (Greg) Ballard, Scott (Holly) Hammons, Dave (Elizabeth) Hammons. Grandchildren: Kimberly (Chase) Kelpin, James Ballard, Emily Hammons, Wade Hammons, Tommy Hammons. Sister, Ardes Karn, a niece Carrie (Ed) Pitts, and many other nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother Richard, a sister Beth Luree Stiegemeier. Private Family Inurnment and cremation are under the care of Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
