Janet Louise Garden, aged 74, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2024, in Olympia, Washington, her place of birth. Janet was born on November 17, 1949, and lived a life filled with kindness, generosity, and selfless devotion to others.
Janet's educational journey began at St. Michaels School and continued through St. Placid High School. She furthered her studies at Centralia College, where she earned an Associate of Arts degree.
During her high school and college years, Janet was dedicated to serving her community as a candy striper at local hospitals and nursing homes, reflecting her lifelong commitment to caring for those in need. Her career was marked by a profound dedication to providing in-home care to numerous family members, including her father-in-law, Joseph M Garden, her father, Jacob J Berschauer, and her mother, Marian Campbell Berschauer, until their passing.
Janet's compassionate nature and loving spirit touched the lives of many, making a significant impact through her caregiving. Beyond her caregiving endeavors, Janet was ambitious, following in her father's footsteps to pursue a business in used car sales and other automotive activities. Her drive and determination were evident in all she undertook, showcasing her versatile talents and boundless energy.
Janet's vibrant personality was highlighted by her many interests, including cooking, clam digging, and the thrill of motorcycle races and riding. She was always thinking of others first, embodying a heart for helping and making everyone around her feel appreciated and cared for.
Janet celebrated her 50th wedding anniversary with her beloved husband, Joseph Garden, on August 14th, 2024, in Olympia, Washington. Their enduring love and partnership were a testament to their lifelong commitment to one another.
She is survived by her devoted husband Joseph; her loving son and daughter; three sisters; four brothers; numerous nieces and nephews; and a multitude of cousins. Janet was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Joseph M Garden; her father, Jacob J Berschauer; her mother, Marian Campbell Berschauer; and many cherished aunts and uncles.
In accordance with Janet's wishes, there will be no memorial service. Her family and friends will forever cherish her memory and the indelible mark she left on their hearts. As we remember Janet Louise Garden, we celebrate a life well-lived, characterized by boundless love, unwavering dedication, and an indomitable spirit.
Assured Hospice did a truly amazing job caring for Janet in her final days. Their care was incredibly personal and supportive. Words are not enough to express the gratitude they deserve.
