Jane Mcpherson Terrell

July 28, 1935 — January 16, 2025

In loving and everlasting memory of our mother, Jane McPherson Terrell, July 28 1935 - January 16 2025. Her Confederate Rose reminds us of the beauty and love she shared with all.

It is with profound and heartfelt sorrow, we announce the peaceful passing of Jane Ava McPherson Terrell at the age of 89.  Our mother was the cornerstone of our family and her warmth and love were boundless.  She was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend who touched countless lives with her kindness and grace.  She was born in Alamance County NC and attended Alexander Wilson High School.  Along with raising her family, she built a distinguished career in administration spanning six decades and selflessly volunteered with the Mecklenburg County Board of Elections.

Her love for the outdoors was evident in the beauty she cultivated in her life which is a true reflection of her spirit.  A talented gardener, she created vibrant displays of flowers that reflected the joy she brought to those around her, bringing to mind the masterpieces of Monet with their serene beauty and harmonious blend of natures finest colors.  She found fulfillment in sharing her many gifts through lending an ear to those in need or sharing her homemade canned pickles and flowers she grew in her garden with family, neighbors and co-workers.  Mom shared her love with everyone!

She is survived by her four children: Teresa Fowler (Jim), Ava Lindsey (Robin), Annette Rafko and Mark Terrell.  She also leaves behind seven grandchildren: Kelly Murray (Pat), Amy Funk, Anne Konick (Michael), Lisa Revels (Jamie), McKinley Taylor, Jordan Rafko, Geoffrey Rafko, fifteen great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.  She also leaves behind countless friends whose lives she enriched with her love.  She was preceded in death by her beloved grandson Paul Ingle.

A private family service will be held to honor our mother, with a celebration of her remarkable life to follow at a later date.  Mom's enduring legacy of love and kindness will continue to blossom in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A celebration of our mother's life will be on 15 March between 12-3pm at her home.  There is no official ceremony planned for this time period so feel free to come anytime during this window to meet with our family and share your stories about our mother.  We look forward to seeing and talking with anyone who is able to attend.  Thank you.
