Iris Ilene Schultz Groves was born June 11, 1938 to Theodore (Ted) Schultz and Rose Redden Schultz in Greeley, Colorado. Iris passed away February 5, 2025 in Greeley. She married Jim Groves on June 23, 1954 at Calvary Baptist Church in Greeley. To this union was born Cathy Lynn and three sons, Ray Groves, Terry Groves, and Randall Groves.
Iris spent all of her life in Weld County Colorado. She attended school in Evans, Colorado, Ault and Greeley, Colorado and she also attended school in Lucerne, Colorado.
She helped her husband, Jim run their masonry business from 1965 until 1988 at which point their son Ray took over the business with the help of other family members. Jim and Iris owned a farm in the Galeton area and later they owned a ranch South of Roggen, Colorado.
Iris's hobbies included yard work, making family scrapbooks, word search puzzles and she also enjoyed listening to classic country music and bluegrass, but especially Gospel music.
Iris received a 2 year Pin for volunteering at North Colorado Medical Center for the Red Cross. She also volunteered at the Kenton Manor when the West Wind Connection Band played.
Iris enjoyed her family immensely. Iris is survived by her husband Jim Groves, a daughter, Cathy Lacen (Dennis) of Columbus, Kansas, a son Ray Groves of Evans, Colorado, Terry Groves (Brenda) of Kersey, Colorado and Randy Groves (Willmeta) of Greeley, Colorado. Iris leaves 7 grandkids, Stacey Dinges (David), Todd Lacen (Ryan), Jason Groves, Amanda Bryan (Casey), Ryan Groves (Bry), Jeremy Groves (Aby) and Jennifer Holt. As well as 19 great grandkids. And her sisters Irene Rust and Linda Romero, brothers, Dwayne Schultz, Daryl Schultz. Iris was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore & Rose Schultz (Trembath) and one sister, Millie Lewis.
Visitation starts at 6PM on Thursday February 13th at Adamson Life Celebration Home.
Celebration Of Life is the following day Friday February 14th starting at 10AM
