Obituary

Ida Mae "Candee" DiCaprio, 87, of Gloversville, New York, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2025.  Candee was born on April 21, 1937 in Schenectady, NY to the late Elmer and Mary Jones.

Candee worked at the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance for many years, until her retirement. When she was younger Candee was also a professional singer, singing classic popular music at weddings and upscale clubs. She was also a talented decorator and provided décor and floral work for many weddings and other events.

Her creativity knew no bounds, aside from singing, decorating, and making floral arrangements, Candee was a talented artist, crafter, and interior decorator who was known for her impeccable taste. She was an all-around class act, and will be remembered for the way she could always light up a room.

She leaves behind her brother, John Jones Sr., as well as many nieces, nephews, and several close friends.

Aside from her parents, Elmer and Mary, Candee is also preceded in passing by her beloved husband, Louis DiCaprio, as well as by her four brothers and three sisters.

Services will be held privately, at the convenience of the family. Interment will take place in Evergreen Cemetery, Albany, NY where she will be laid to rest with Louis. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, NY 12078.
