Hilary Lyman Bohannon (Bo)
Hilary L. Bohannon (Bo), 77, of Louisville, Ky., passed away peacefully surrounded by his family in Cape Coral, FL., leaving behind a legacy of hard work, laughter and unwavering family devotion.
Hilary was born on December 20, 1947, in Louisville, KY., the son of Henry Bohannon and Lula Bohannon. He deeply loved his parents and cherished them throughout his life. He grew up in Louisville where he graduated from University of Louisville and developed a strong work ethic while working in a management position within General Electric’s leadership team. His solid foundation in political science and prior experience allowed him to serve as The City of Louisville Director -Human Resources, and The City of Cincinnati as Director- Human Resources. His experience in labor relations, collective bargaining, understanding of public safety agreements, knowledge of contract negotiations with Police and Fire Departments, commitment to achieving goals, and his exceptional people skills that fostered positive work environments made him a highly valuable asset.
He is survived by his wife, Sheryl Bissett-Bohannon, his son Jeffrey Carl Bohannon and wife, Kimberly Bohannon, and his daughter Alicia Gay Collins and husband, Ted Collins. He is also survived by his siblings Gwen Carnes and Roger Bohannon, his grandson, Hunter Bohannon and his granddaughter, Madison Ann Collins, stepdaughter, Cassidy Keesee, and his niece Dawn Rene' Blandford as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly. He was a loving husband and a pillar of strength and support. He was a devoted father, always there to offer guidance, love, and a joke with a hearty laugh. He cherished family gatherings, and his presence at holidays, birthdays, and celebrations brought pure joy and happiness to those around him.
Hilary had many passions in life including golfing with his friends, cheering for his U of L Cardinals, watching sports, singing country music songs, and spending quality time with his friends and family. He was known for his genuine love and empathy towards all, and his sense of humor could light up any room.
A Celebration of Life will be held on January 31, 2026 in Cape Coral, FL. Friends and Family are invited to attend to celebrate “Bo’s” life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the American Lung Association in Hilary (Bo's) memory.
Rest in peace, Bo. Your memory will live on in our hearts forever.
