Gwennnie Preston

Gwennie Preston of Alameda, CA, passed away on September 25, 2023. She was born on July 16, 1942. Gwennie was a beloved member of her family and community and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Gwennie was known for her witty and friendly personality. She had a deep love for her family, her dear friends, her pets, and the Oakland A’s. She had many adventures with her friends and family, cherishing every moment spent together. Gwennie was an avid storyteller and had a unique knack for remembering the tiniest details. She loved animals and dedicated her time to being an animal welfare activist and volunteer, always working to make the world a better place for her furry friends. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to someone in need. She touched the lives of those around her and will be remembered for her fun and loving nature. We will miss her birthday phone calls and stories. Gwennie is survived by her many dear friends and nieces, great nieces, and great-great-nieces and nephews, and her beloved pets Murphy, Misty, Sunny, Riley and Rainbow. Gwennie worshiped at St. Barnabas Catholic Church in Alameda, CA. She found solace and community in her faith. Her funeral mass will be held at St. Barnabas, with the date to be announced. In memory of Gwennie Preston, donations can be made to her favorite animal welfare charity, ARF. May she rest in peace with her family gone before her.
