Forever in our hearts

Gwenn Tishendorf Holmlund, 93, of McLean Virginia, passed away peacefully on February 27th at the Leewood Healthcare Center in Annandale Virginia. She was born on November 22, 1931 in Anoka Nebraska to parents Elmer Jennings Tishendorf and Clara Eleanora Bengston. 

She is survived by three sons, Jon Jennings (Kimberly) of Springfield, VA, Ronald Mark of Westminster, MD, Kevin Robert of Lignum, VA and 2 grandchildren, Kenneth Bryce (Ashley), Sarah Jennings Luna (Marcos) with one Great grandchild, Isla Quinn Luna.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her Beloved Husband of 58 years, Ronald Perry Holmlund, two brothers Bob (Phyllis), David (Mary) and three sisters Mavis (Albert) Heidemann, June (Guenter) Skole and Mary (Bruce) Burdick.  

Gwenn attended Niobrara Public School graduating with the class of 1949. 

Mrs. Holmlund was active in the Redeemer Lutheran Church and became the Kindergarten Art Teacher there and loved doing art with the kids. She joined the Good News Players at the church and was in plays from 1976 to 1986 also helping with set decorations. 

Worked at the Color Wheel in McLean helping in the office. Went to VA Stained Glass Co. and learned how to do Stained Glass and then worked for them making some pieces there for customers. She setup a workshop  in her basement and made Many beautiful items for her own home and for family and friends. 

A beloved soul who touched many lives.
