Glenda Jean Free Gober, age 71, of Chatsworth, GA, beloved wife to Marvin Gober, mother to Eddie, Brian and Craig/Cindy, grandmother and great grandmother of six, passed away after a prolonged battle with Vascular Dementia. on February 13 2025 leaving a void her family cannot fill. She was born in Drew, MS on March 10, 1953 to Otis and Jean Free and elder sister to Mary Ann Newton, Debra Free and Sharon Williams, before moving to north Georgia to raise her family. Glenda’s family encompassed all aspects of her life, and each member was cherished by her. From a phone call to chat, sharing a meal, adventures near and far, or helping in times of sadness and difficulty, Glenda was there for it all. She was the friend who would drive you to an appointment just as freely as she would join you for lunch, or make a small jester of kindness just to lighten someone’s day. Glenda knew that family and friendships, take work to maintain, and she was willing to put in the effort.
Glenda wishes were to be cremated followed by a private memorial at a later date. The family would like to express our deepest gratitude to the dedicated staff at Murray Woods LTC of Chatsworth for the compassionate care and loving attention they provided to Miss Glenda during her time at the facility. Your kindness and support brought comfort and dignity to our loved one in her final days.
