IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Forrest Milton
Bell
September 21, 1939 – April 8, 2025
Forrest Milton Bell, 85, of Keenesburg Colorado passed away April 8, 2025 in Roggen Colorado.
Forrest was born on September 21, 1939 in Keenesburg, Colorado to parents Henry and Florence (Milliron) Bell.
Forrest is survived by his daughter, Terry Lee Bell at Eastern Colorado Services of Sterling, Colorado. Son, Matthew (Marlene) Bell of Keenesburg, Colorado. Grandson, Steven (Kristine) Bell of Roggen, Colorado. Granddaughter, Stephanie (Sterling) Cox of Roggen, Colorado. Great granddaughter, Shayne Nichole Bell, great grandson, Kenton Forrest Bell, and step great granddaughter, Gabriella Shay Cox. Sister-in-law Jeanie Bell.
Forrest grew up in the Keenesburg area, completing the eighth grade before farming with his brother Dayton. In the winter, Forrest would work for his sister and brother-in-law, Ed and Ilene Kerbs grinding and hauling hay. It was during this time that Forrest met Elaine while working in Platteville. Forrest and Elaine Stevens were married on March 12, 1961.
Forrest began farming on his own in 1953 in the Roggen and Keenesburg area. In 1973, Forrest and Elaine bought the farm on County Road 14 & 61 where they farmed with their son until 2001. After serving 28 years on the Roggen Farmers Elevator Board, Forrest then went to work at the Roggen Elevator, driving grain truck and working in the fertilizer division before he began driving the feed truck. While still driving for the elevator, Forrest picked up farming 80 acres with the help of his grandson, Steven, passing his love of agriculture and the family farm to the next generation. Spring of 2013, Forrest fully retired, but you never had to look far, you could always find him running a tractor or combine, helping out wherever he could.
In January 2015, when Elaine passed away, you could find Forrest "taking care of the old folks", as he would call it. Everyone could see the love for farming in Forrest's eyes as he helped with the plowing in the spring and combining corn in the fall. In his spare time, he enjoyed chasing his great grandchildren after school, and enjoying the sweet treats that were waiting at his house. During the summers, Forrest would enjoy his days digging up worms and taking Shayne and Kenton to the ponds to fish.
Forrest is proceeded in death by his wife, Elaine, sister, and brother-in-law, Ed and Ilene Kerbs, brothers, Otis Bell, Virgil (Mayme) Bell, Dayton (Gloria) Bell, Donald (Mary Ellen) Bell, and Bill Bell.
