May 23, 1967 – August 11, 2025
Eugene ‘Geno’ Sanchez, a resident of Greeley, CO, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2025, at the age of 58, after an intense fight with cancer.
Geno is survived by his parents, Guadalupe and Maria Sanchez; his fiancée, Regina Gallegos, his children, Jordan Leigh Sanchez, Maria Christina Sanchez (Jassiel Gomez), and Eugene Matthew (Auralia) Sanchez; his grandchildren, Estevan (Brynlee) Hernandez and Sarah Hernandez; his siblings, Fela (Jon) Scheiderer, Ernie (Juanita) Sanchez, Anthony (Michelle) Lujan, and Melanie Lara: his nieces, Kendall Scheiderer, Kacey Scheiderer, Alexis Sanchez and Jenea (Jay) Weber, Jordyn Padilla, (Eric Reynolds). He is predeceased by his niece, Annessa May Sanchez; his grandparents, Gabino and Lucia Lara; and Jennie Sanchez.
Geno was born in Vernon, TX, on May 23, 1967. He graduated from Greeley Central High School in 1985. He lettered in wrestling, football, and track. After high school, he became a carpenter by trade. He later welcomed his two beautiful daughters and his son, who were the most important part of his life. He embraced his role as a stepfather with an open heart for children who weren't his by blood, but who he loved as his own. He was a son, a brother, an uncle, a friend, and a mentor, but most of all, an unforgettable father. He had a strong spirit and a heart of gold, ready to make the most of every day with all he had until the very end. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A viewing will be held on Monday, August 18, at Adamson Funeral Home, 2000 47th Ave, Greeley, CO 80634, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Services will be at St. Peter Catholic Church, 915 12th Street, Greeley, CO 80631, on Tuesday, August 19, 2025. Rosary at 9:00 AM, followed by Mass, and burial at Linn Grove Cemetery. Reception at St. Peter’s Hall.
The family would like to thank the staff at the University of Northern Colorado Cancer Rehabilitation Institute, where Geno encountered physical well-being, love, compassion, and support. Geno would often report that he wanted to be there forever.
