In Loving Memory of Prince Emmanuel Adekunle Akanbi Fatona (1940 –2024)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our loving husband, devoted father, doting grandfather, revered great-grandfather, admirable brother, beloved Uncle and cherished patriarch. Prince ‘Kunle Fatona left this world at the age of 83, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering selflessness.
Born in Ilewo Orile in 1940, “Counselor Were Were” as he was fondly called was a beacon of compassion and generosity. His life was a testament to the power of putting others before oneself. He was known for his unwavering kindness, boundless generosity, and touched countless lives. His genuine interest in others made him a cherished friend to all who knew him. Whether it was lending a helping hand to a neighbor; offering all (up to shirt off his back) to any that is in need; sharing a warm and bright smile; ensuring employment with training of any man, woman, or child that wants one; a true fisher of men! Kulu embodied the true spirit of family and community.
“Papa” as we called him, leaves behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and a deep love for aviation. Although he is often found spending time with family…he loved to travel especially to lands far reaching like Nairobi, Egypt, South Africa, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Milan, Switzerland, Berlin, Japan, China, USA, and of course England. Daddy’s gregarious nature made him a favorite amongst colleagues and fellow travelers. He had an innate ability to strike up conversations with anyone, turning strangers into friends. His stories of flying adventures and airport escapades were legendary, and he could captivate an audience with his animated tales.
As we bid farewell to this remarkable man, let us honor his memory by continuing his legacy of kindness, compassion, and selflessness. May his soul rest in peace.
