IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Elizabeth J.
Agedal
November 19, 1941 – August 17, 2025
AMSTERDAM- Elizabeth J. "Betty" Agedal age 83, passed away on August 17, 2025.
She was born in Amsterdam, the daughter of the late Arnold and Dorothy Agedal.
Betty worked at the carpet mills in Amsterdam, earlier in her life, as a secretary until the company closed and moved south. From that time on, Betty became the caretaker for her father, Arnold, and then eventually her mother, Dorothy.
Betty was a talented seamstress. She enjoyed making clothing for herself and family. She knitted and made many wonderful crafts, as well. Betty's creativity extended into the kitchen, also. Everyone benefitted from her love of baking as she always shared her cookies and cakes with those dear to her. Betty was also the record keeper for the family. She enjoyed keeping track of all her family, immediate and extended, and made a wonderful recollection of her family gatherings. All important family events were recorded throughout the years into her binder for all members to enjoy and reminisce during the yearly family reunions.
She is survived by her brother, Robert and sister-in-law, Judy, her nephew, Michael and his wife, Kimberly, their children Kaitlyn and Ryan, niece Beth Thomas and her husband, Richard, their children Sarah and Andrew. Betty is also survived by many other relatives and friends. A special thank you to Leo and Diane for taking good care of Betty in her final months.
Betty was a lifelong member of the St. Luke's Lutheran Church of Amsterdam and enjoyed attending weekly services.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY 12010. Interment will follow in Fair View Cemetery.
