Eleanor Turowski, RN, 90, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 14, 2025, at Capstone Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing.

Born November 18, 1934, in Amsterdam, the daughter of the late Florence Turowski.

Eleanor was very accomplished throughout her life and was a registered nurse for the state of New York for many years.

Eleanor was honored as "Volunteer of the Year" on April 14, 2011, by the Montgomery County Office for the Aging. At that time, she was an active volunteer for more than 13 years and was a member of the agency's advisory board. Eleanor was an active volunteer for other local organizations and her friends always referred to her as "one in a million"

Eleanor is survived by her longtime friend, Adelaide Annunziata and many other friends and extended family.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Eleanor will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at 11am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 39 St. John Street, Amsterdam, with The Very Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis E.V. as celebrant, a calling hour will be held prior at the church beginning at 10am. Burial will follow Mass at St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
