IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Elaine Fern
Gesick
May 31, 1937 – January 6, 2026
Elaine Fern (Lynch) Gesick born May 31st, 1937 in Milliken, Colorado, passed away peacefully on January 6th, 2026 at Life Care Center in Greeley, Colorado. Elaine resided on the same street in the same town for the entirety of her life. Elaine is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Daniel Gesick, plus 8 brothers and sisters (the Lynches); Harry, Ralph, Orval, Cecil, Marvin, Dorothy, Pearl and Teddy, as well as, her parents Albert Ellis Lynch and Zenith Marie Lynch (Gregory).
Elaine Gesick is survived by a community of close-knit in-laws: Gladys Lutes; Alvin and Linda Gesick; Barb Ley; Richard Gesick; Larry and Joyce Gesick, as well as, numerous nieces, nephews cousins and friends. Dinners, fishing, camping, family celebrations and gambling were some of their favorite activities. One of Elaine’s favorites was arm wrestling the slot machines.
Elaine attended Milliken High School; then worked at the potato dock. The potato dock is where she met the love of her life and her future husband, Daniel Gesick. Knowing each other only 3 weeks, they were married on April 5th, 1956. They were blessed with four wonderful children: Brenda and husband, Rodney Watson; Gary and ex-wife Tammy Gesick; Loren and wife Kate Gesick; Darrell and wife Esther Gesick.
Elaine has 7 delightful grandchildren: Jesse and wife Shawna Watson; Brandy Watson and Rolando Campos; Holly and husband Frank Castillega; Amanda and husband Jake Lemley; Aspen and husband Jackson Smith; Dylan and brother, Cody Gesick.
Elaine has 13 lovely great-grandchildren: Wyatt, Aiden, and Daniel Watson; Graciella and Rayanna Meza, Zuriya Mercado and Noah Gesick; Destiny Hernandez, Korey and Kole Swanson, Beau Smith; Asher and Jettson Lemley.
Over the years Elaine had several occupations. She started with in-home childcare. Then working outside the home, she worked for a few years as a janitor at Milliken Middle School where her children often enjoyed helping her. Her favorite position may have been her work as a cook, also at Milliken Middle School from 1976 – 1990. Additionally, she volunteered for the Fireflies and for several years designing craft kits for the Milliken seniors, which she was a member of. Elaine was a genius at coming up with fun, interesting crafts that were often made out of recyclable materials. She loved reading until her eyesight failed her and then she listened to stories on tape.
It is equally important to note that Elaine was awarded the title of Honorary Citizen of Milliken Beef n’ Bean Day! This honorary title was hard earned - in recognition of her many years of cooking all night in preparation for the Beef n’ Bean Day, a community favorite. Elaine and her husband were parade grand marshall’s for Beef and Bean Day and the whole family was in the parade.
Elaine lived a happy and full life, always encouraging, always loving, always inspiring. She will be greatly missed.
Services for Elaine will be on Friday, January 30th at 10:00 am ,at Adamson Mortuary, 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley, CO 80634, refreshment following service and private interment at Johnstown Cemetary
