"Brimfield – Doris Collins, 72, of Sunnydale Cr., passed away on February 21, 2008 at Quaboag on the Common Nursing home. Born January 22, 1936 in Wilbraham, she was the daughter of the late Hollis and Marguerite (Brown) Collins. Doris worked for 34 years as a machine operator for Tambrands. She was a communicant of St. Patrick's church in Monson. After being diagnosis with cancer, Doris's mission was to bring the awareness of the dangers and health risks associated with cigarette smoking to others. Doris loved animals and was brought much enjoyment from Sunny and Tuffy 2. She also had a passion for gardening. She will be deeply missed by her twin sister Dorothy Collins with whom she lived, a sister-in-law Margaret Collins, many nieces and nephews and friends Becky and Patty. Doris was predeceased by 4 brothers, Roy, Leslie, Hollis, Jr., and Donald. Doris expressed that the following people be thanked; her neighbors Ron and Barbara, Bob Twining and Madeline, friend Jim Schwartz, Dr. Abdelkader, Adele McCarthy and staff at Wing Hospital along with Dr. Mertens, Dr. Philip Stoddard and Sister Ann, Dr. Kevin Trombly and staff, Dr. Napier and staff , Dr. Fitzpatrick and the nurses and staff at Quaboag on the Common, also Fr. Jeddie Brooks , Fred Fredette and Bishop McGuire. A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday at 11:oo a.m. at St. Patrick's Church in Monson, with burial in Bethany Cemetery. A calling hour will precede the Mass from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Doris's memory to St. Patrick's Church Restoration Fund, P.O. Box 473, Monson, MA or to the Guardian Hospice of Quaboag on the Common, Brookfield, MA. "
