Donald Lewis Call

January 28, 1941 — January 17, 2025

Donald “Don” Lewis Call was born in Klamath Falls, Oregon on January 28th, 1941, to parents, Donald Forester Call and Alison Rebekah Mc Lucas.

He served in the US Army, afterwards moving to Beavercreek, Oregon where he married Cheryl Papini in 1979. During his time in Beavercreek with Cheryl they lived on a generational family farm that housed four generations. During this time on the family farm, they welcomed their daughter, Devony Call (Kuykendall), who was able to grow up with a farm full of Great-Grandparents, Grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. The 23 years spent on the Beavercreek Farm, with so many family members present will be remembered as some of the best years of Don’s life.

Don spent 30 years as a welder and 5 years as a loan officer, however, his favorite job after retirement was portraying Santa Claus for 16 years with a real beard to match his cheerful personality. He worked for multiple malls bringing smiles to children all over Northwestern Oregon; his longest running as a beloved Santa Claus was with Woodburn Company Stores (AKA Woodburn Outlets), where he welcomed many children and watched them grow up year after year.

At his time of death on January 17th, 2025, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Devony. However, Don is survived by his wife, Cheryl and his two grandchildren, Chayton Kuykendall and Gabriella Kuykendall. He will be forever remembered by a large group of loving family and friends.
