A year has slipped by like the turning of a page,
You were here and then vanished, on life’s journey to the next stage.
In your honor, we planted hollyhocks, roses, and irises that thrived,
While special seeds from your garden trove sprang high in the summer sunshine.
Vibrant and carefree, spirited in your early days,
Once your children came, your mission was to keep us safe always.
Small, strong, and full of McClure pride,
With a quick wit, we caught glimpses of your softer side.
Generous, with a big heart, giving out twenties to one and all,
With beautiful hazel eyes that resembled my own.
You loved having your family gathered around,
At your house, the zoo, the garden-playing, laughing in the background.
You loved to share stories, both fact and fiction,
Your favorite grandmother, touring around the world, the tale of brown pants we are missing.
Your treasures are all safe within Dad’s loving embrace,
Secret notes we find, like whispers from your heart leaving their trace.
You left us wondering how you may reappear,
In red cardinals, the quick hummingbird, or Bella’s long stare.
A daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend,
We miss you, we love you; on you, we depend.
Today and every day, we honor your memory,
Our Angel above, forever you will remain.
Preceded in death by parents, Tom and June, brother, Dennis, and son, Robert.
You are dearly missed by your husband, Gale, three daughters, Deborah, Suesan, and Amy, sister, Sharon, six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren and many extended family and friends.
