Deborah Ellen Lester (née Pascal) was born on July 11, 1948, in the San Leandro and Oakland areas. She was the beloved middle child of seven siblings. Deborah's life was marked by her passions, including gardening and raising livestock. However, her greatest joy came from doting on her three cherished grandchildren, Courtney, Matthew, and Dominick, as well as her great-grandson, Conor Jay, who continue to carry her spirit forward.
Deborah is survived by her two loving daughters, Cari Carter of Colorado Springs and Melissa Lester of Tracy. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Jay Dee Lester, her mother and father, Harry Pascal and Lucy Gaskill (née Medeiros), and her grandmother, Virginia Medeiros.
Deborah was a remarkable woman who lived life to the fullest. She possessed a rare combination of kindness, thoughtfulness, and unwavering truthfulness. Her impact on the lives of those she touched was immeasurable, and her willingness to lend a helping hand knew no bounds. Deborah's intelligence, independence, and inner and outer beauty shone brightly throughout her life.
On August 7, 2023, Deborah was called home while visiting her sisters in Grants Pass, Oregon. Her absence is deeply felt by her family and all those fortunate enough to have known her.
