"The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart," Helen Keller
**Biography of David Marcus Weimar** *December 22, 1966 – January 23, 2026* David Marcus Weimar was not just a man; he was a force of nature wrapped in a warm smile and a punchline. Born on December 22, 1966, in Orange, California, he embodied the spirit of adventure and laughter from an early age. He spent his formative years in Phoenix, Arizona, where he honed his wit and charisma, graduating high school from North High School in 1984. Little did the world know that this exuberant young man would go on to leave a legacy shimmering with humor and love. The heart of David’s life lay in his dedication to his family and friends. He was adored by his wife, Patricia Mailhot, and is survived by five remarkable children: Audrey (Jake) Weimar, David Weimar Jr., Kyle (Rebecca) Tupps, Jonathan (Brittany) Tupps, and Tina (E'Darian) Lewis, along with ten cherished grandchildren and one great-grandson. David was not simply a father; he was a joyfully boisterous parent who often turned mundane moments into hilarious tales that would have his kids in fits of giggles. Beyond being a dedicated family man, David was a career protector of laughter and safety as the Head of Security at Amelia Arena. His career path also took him through the challenging terrains of road construction with Tampa Paving. In both roles, he worked tirelessly, always with an eye for protecting the people and communities he loved, and often sprinkling his workdays with his signature humor that left an indelible mark on his colleagues. With a personality as vivid as the Florida sunsets, David was known for his energetic disposition and generosity. “You can be kind or you can be funny,” he would say, “but why not be both?” He certainly lived by this mantra, managing to meld humor with kindness effortlessly. Whether he was at the family BBQ perfecting his special ribs or paddling on a kayak in search of the next fishing hotspot, David's zest for life was contagious. There was rarely a dull moment around him; he always knew how to throw a joke or two into the right moment, often without a filter, leaving laughter in his wake. David was also deeply loyal to his friends and family, describing his chosen brother, Richie (Vickie) Eden, as one of the many treasures in his life. He cherished a wide circle, from siblings Shelba (David) Vanderburgh and Darrel (Opel) Cates to countless nieces, nephews, and greats, instilling in each a sense of belonging and joy. Though he passed away in Lake Wales, Florida, on January 23, 2026, David’s spirit will be celebrated in a ceremony at the Language & Literacy Academy for Learning, on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at 6:30 PM. A time to gather, to share laughs, shed tears, and to honor the legacy of a man who forever changed the lives of those lucky enough to have known him. As we remember David, let us carry forward his laughter, cherish moments spent with loved ones, and honor his memory by appreciating the good, the funny, and the joyful in our own lives. Here’s to you, David Marcus Weimar—may your jokes echo wherever you are.
