Consuelo Sedano De Sousa

July 4, 1936 — May 3, 2025

Consuelo, the name says it all. In Spanish, it means to counsel, and that she did. My mother a beacon of counsel and hope to many. Through her voice as a singer and actress, her lyrics counseled and soothed many a heart. From her early years singing on radio as a child to her career later in life as an accomplished voice over actress. She was sought after acknowledged and awarded for her many contributions in the Los Angeles and Pasadena community.

Her talents contributed to: KWKW, KLVE, KMEX, NBC, CBS, Disney, El Pueblo de Los Angeles, Olvera Street, Hispanic Women's Council, Junior League of Pasadena and Los Angeles, San Marino Unified School District, The Archdiocese of Los Angeles and many more ...

Born in Mexico City in the late 30s, my mother was exposed to the enduring history and culture of her native land.

Her family's appreciation for art, music, literature ,theater and Mexican cinema influenced her creative expression and endeavours throughout her life.

By the late 40s, the family emigrated to the United States and soon began her admiration for everything American.

Born on the 4th of July, what better place to celebrate her successes through her lifetime but in the U.S.A.

A fine Yankee Doodle herself.

My mother became an  accomplished song writer and lyricist. Illustrator and painter. As well as producing her own album. She was a wife, mother and grandmother. Friend and confidant to many. It was easy to fall in love with her, as she herself was the incarnation of love.

A walking romance novel filled with passion, drama, heartbreak and triumphs. Author of a yet to be published book. She was my mother, my friend, my protector and my guide in life, as is now in the beyond. She is profoundly missed but  her legacy lives on through her poetic words and music. It will console and remind us to never, ever, ever give up because it is through that faith everything is possible and miracles do exist.

Thank you for being part of my mothers life story.
