Clara A. Dudley, 56, of Gloversville, New York, passed away unexpectedly at home on December 25, 2024. Clara and her sister Thelma were the first set of twins born at the new Nathan Littauer Hospital, on October 5, 1968, to the late Kenneth and Esther (Baker) Danforth.
Clara graduated from Springdale High School in Springdale, Arkansas. She worked for many years in the bakery at Hannaford, prior to her current employment at DHL in Johnstown where she worked as a Systems Assistant on the first shift, and also at the Bottle and Can Retrieval Center.
Through the course of her life, Clara had an eclectic mix of hobbies, interests, and projects. She was a life-long fan of Garfield, a member of the Star Trek Club, and she became a Justice of the Peace and married several couples in her tenure. Clara greatly enjoyed watching True Crime shows on television, and delighted in listening to music. She will be forever remembered for her bubbly, loving, and outgoing personality, and her ability to always dance as if no one was watching.
She leaves behind her loving family, including her daughters, SondraMarie Larvie and Samantha Sanoguet; her son, Randy Weiderman; her grandchildren, Anthony, Alexander, Leomar, Jordan, Destiny, Scarlette, and Dakota; her siblings, Joyce Morgan, Thomas (Joette) Quillan, William (Sherie) Quillan, Kenneth John Danforth, her twin, Thelma Matthews, and Kenneth James Danforth; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Clara was preceded in passing by her parents, Kenneth W. Danforth and Esther Baker-Danforth; as well as by her siblings, Susan Quillan-Thompson, John Quillan, Laura Wooster, and George Danforth.
Relatives and friends are invited, and may call on Friday, January 3, 2025 from 2:00PM until 4:00PM at the Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, NY 12078. A funeral service will follow the calling period at 4:00PM at the funeral home. A celebration of Clara's life will be held following services at the Sir William Johnson Fire Hall, 102 Co Rd 131, Johnstown, NY 12095. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the American Diabetes Association .
