Christopher R. Bassett, 37, of Fort Johnson, NY passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 4, 2025 from complications of his illness. He was born May 17, 1988 in Amsterdam, NY to Robert and Cynthia (Bell) Bassett.

Christopher was a proud graduate of Amsterdam High School, class of 2006. In his free time he enjoyed watching TV and movies, and was a big fan of wrestling. He was also a gamer and enjoyed various video games. He loved his trips to McDonald’s with his Dad whenever he was able to go. He also loved the family guinea pigs, who will miss the love and attention he gave to them. His entire family will miss him dearly.

In addition to his parents, Christopher is survived by his paternal grandparents Robert G. Bassett Sr. and Ella Bassett, his sister Cortney Bassett, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Florence and Harold Bell.

The family has chosen to remember Christopher’s life privately at this time.
