Carolyn Barbara Palm

December 10, 1960 — June 29, 2025

Carolyn (Kerry) Barbara Palm of Minneapolis, age 64, died on June 29 th, 2025,following a 14 month struggle with Glioblastoma brain cancer.

This is her story, her ‘yarn’.  And, if you knew her at all you might say yarn is the perfect narrative to describe her life.

Born on December 10th, 1960 to Ken and Sue Palm in Des Moines Iowa.

She lived there with her parents and sisters, Kirstin & Judy until 1971. Next was Plymouth, MN, knitting was already part of Kerry’s life. Graduating from Hopkins Lindbergh in 1979, and still knitting.

Kerry followed her high school days studying computer programming, and then worked in Care Delivery IT for 23 years with HealthPartners.

A woman who loved her pets, her people, and her crafts all with enthusiasm. A consummate knitter over all these years, she found like-minded friends in her knit group.

She was a soap maker who started her own small company. She was also a weaver, a spinner, a woodworker of amazing hand tools, a talent with a sewing machine– and good at all of them.

Dogs, cats & birds, and love filled her house and her heart. Many wearing sweaters.

Kerry could fill you with a belly laugh as easily as computer help or a knitting tip.Kerry was a good ear on a hard day, good advice on a bumpy road. Offering a great pair of socks, a hat, a shawl, a good sweater to keep you warm and loved.

A Great MN State Fair lover, Kerry entered many knit and sewn items in the fair, winning her many ribbons.

Carolyn is preceded in death by her infant brother Gary, her infant niece Karen, and her dear dad and mom.

She is survived by many many friends, her sisters, her aunt and uncle, and her sweet pets.

Kerry’s immense gratitude goes to her oncologist, who became a friend, Dr. Rank. Full-hearted thanks also to Dr. Mendez and all the Neurology and Oncology staff. They treated Kerry with warmth and care, indeed like family. To her many friends, her sisters, Charlly, Vanessa and Vicki from Hospice, and the dear Visiting Angels.
