IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carol C.
Fisher
April 28, 1939 – March 22, 2025
Carol C. Fisher, 85, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Nathan Littauer Nursing Home.
Carol was born April 28, 1939 in Clinton, NY, to the late Edward and Alice (Kennedy) Clarey. A graduate of Clinton High School, Carol went on to Morrisville College, where she majored in Food Service. After being a homemaker and stay at home mom, she went to work at the Sears, Roebuck and Co. catalog department, where she worked until her retirement when the Gloversville store closed.
After marrying Donald Fisher, her beloved second husband of 31 years, she and Don spent hours reading to children at Meco Elementary School. They sponsored 3 children living in Guatemala, providing books, clothes, toys and even running water for their homes. They frequently donated to local food pantries. Carol also spent hours knitting hats and mittens which she gave to the local schools for children who were in need. She also crocheted numerous lap robes for local nursing homes and assisted living facilities.
Carol loved gardening, bird watching, camping in their travel trailer, and traveling around the US, as well as places like Germany and Africa. Carol's backyard in Gloversville was designated a Wildlife Sanctuary and she was very proud of all her gardens and the number of animals that came to visit on a regular basis.
Carol is survived by her brother, Edward Clarey of New Hartford, NY; children, Richard (Susan) Joslin, Cynthia (Douglas) Galpin, and Scott (Beth) Joslin; stepchildren, Karl Fisher and Karen (Patrick) McHenry; grandchildren, Kasey Joslin, Clarke Joslin, Chelsea (Richard) Tanner, Nicholas Joslin, Connor Joslin, Rebecca Joslin, Eric Fisher, Matthew Fisher, Daniel McHenry and Kimberly McHenry; great-grandchildren, Duke Tanner and Declan Tanner; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
