Carla Ortiz, 66 years of age, passed away on the evening of Friday January 16th. Carla was born October 20,1959 in Greeley Colorado to the late Peter S. Duran and Sarah Duran. She was the 5th one out of 6 girls, two preceded her in death. Carla graduated from Greeley West High school in 1977 and furthered her education in financing where she later received a degree in accounting from Aims Community College in 1990.
Carla married Pete Louis Gonzales in 1978, and they had two beautiful daughters, Danielle and Stephanie. Later in life she married Oscar (Papa) Ortiz on Saturday April 10, 1999, and two became 3 with their brother Daymar. Carla continued working at her father’s construction company Dumar Contractors for over 30 years until his retirement. She then worked at New Hope Greeley Christian church up until 2023. Carla professed her life to Christ at an early age and grew up in the First Assembly’s of God church and later joined Victory Outreach Ministries, and finally New Hope Greeley in 2001.
Carla loved reading her bible, praying for others, worshipping, singing and helping at her church. She loved spending time with her family, going to the movies, traveling, and most importantly she loved the Lord. She was a loving and caring woman, devoted wife, mother, daughter sister and friend. Carla leaves to cherish her loving memory for the love of her life Oscar, her in-laws Norberto Ortiz and Elena Catano, her sisters Della Ortiz, Diana Montoya and Jill Deidrich, her daughters, Danielle Puga(spouse Elio Puga) and Stephanie Long (Spouse Gerald Long) and stepson Daymar Oritz. She loved her 8 grandchildren: Jolie, Jayla, Jenae, Janelle, Ethan, Sofia, Tommy and Natalie and a great grandchild baby AJ coming in March. She loved her many nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and church family.
We love you mom; you will never be forgotten.
