Candace Blackwood, 36, of Amsterdam, NY, passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, January 27, 2025.

She was born on May 6, 1988, in Saratoga Springs, NY to James and Marie (Hollenbeck) Blackwood. She attended Ballston Spa High School and graduated with the class of 2007. During this time, she also studied culinary arts at BOCES. During her life, she found employment at several call centers in the area.

Candace enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, crafting, and cooking different dishes, especially chocolate treats. She also loved taking her daughter Autumn fishing and visiting nearby states together.

She is survived by her daughter Autumn; parents Marie and James Blackwood; twin sister Andrea; brothers Carl and Robert Blackwood; nieces Reba and Destiny Duffney; nephew Gordon Duffney; aunts Nancy Duffney and Jennifer Plain; as well as uncles Jesse Blackwood and Willard Hollenbeck.

Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, February 14, 2025, from 3pm to 5pm at Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY 12010. A service of remembrance will follow at 5pm. Interment will take place in the spring at Malta Ridge Cemetery in Ballston Spa.
