Bonnie Lee KelleyJune 6, 1949 – January 4, 2025
On January 4, 2025, Bonnie was welcomed home by the Lord into the Kingdom of Heaven at the age of 75. Bonnie Lee Kelley was born to Buford and Madeline Melvina Carter (Carlock) on June 6, 1949, in Lakewood, Colorado. She was the youngest of five siblings. She grew up in the Lakewood and Conifer, Colorado area and attended Evergreen High School.
She met the love of her life, Colin Kelley in Pine, Colorado and they were married a few months later on January 5, 1968. They traveled extensively around the country due to Colin's work and settled in LaSalle, Colorado in October 1975 where they raised their three children. She volunteered as a Girl Scout Leader and in her later years, also volunteered at her grandkid's schools. She was passionate about the Lord and loved serving her church, the First Presbyterian Church of LaSalle. She was a member of the choir, served on Deacons and Session, and worked as the church secretary for many years until her retirement in 2016. She enjoyed gardening, baking, loved spending time with her dear friends and family, adored her grandchildren, was a fervent animal lover, and enjoyed an occasional Italian margarita.
She is survived by her husband of fifty-seven years, Colin Kelley, LaSalle, Colorado, her children Diana Wood and son-in-law Mike, Evans, Colorado; Scott Kelley and daughter-in-law Noreen, Greeley, Colorado; Pam Saucedo and son-in-law Frank, Greeley, Colorado; grandchildren Taylor, Garrett, Heather, Alfred, Lucas, Rochelle, Raquel, Ian, Ciara, Giles, Brendan, Brianna, and great-grandchildren, David and Charlee. She is also survived by her brother Mel Carter of Tempe, Arizona. She is preceded in death by her parents Buford and Madeline Carter, Haigler, Nebraska; siblings Buford Leo Carter (Junior), Kissimmee, Florida; James William Carter, Modesto, California; and Wanda Brynoff, Aurora, Colorado.
All who knew and loved her are invited to join in a Celebration of Life that will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025 at the First Presbyterian Church of LaSalle at 1:00 pm. Rev. Dr. Michael Fitzsimmons and Pastor Donna Herman will preside. Lunch will be served immediately following the service in the Fellowship Hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First Presbyterian Church of LaSalle.
