IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Betty
Johnson
August 22, 1932 – April 2, 2025
Betty D. Johnson, 92, a life-long resident of Gloversville, New York, passed away peacefully at Nathan Littauer Hospital with her loving daughter by her side.
She was born on August 22, 1932 in Meco, New York to the late Felix Sr. and Bertha (Cosselman) Johnson. Betty attended local schools and worked at Robinson & Smith prior to devoting her life to her loving family. Her deep devotion and love for her family was unwavering, sustaining her even in times where struggle shone bright- with a very kind and gentle soul.
Being born into a large family, some of Betty's fondest memories (which she spoke of often) was being born and raised in Meco. She cherished the memories she made with several other large family kids in the Meco neighborhood. She loved to attend family gatherings as well as dances (as she enjoyed dressing up and wearing her jewelry). She always looked forward to visits from family with lottery scratch-offs in hand, and an occasional trip to a casino.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Shelly (Jeffrey) Miller of Gloversville; her son, Gregory (Debbie) Johnson of Virgina; and son-in-law, Harvey Humphrey Sr. of Tribes Hill, NY. Her grandchildren, Chelsea Marshall, Andrea Douglas, Trista Marcellino, Adam Humphrey, Katy Rose Masartis, Melora Miller, Bentley Miller, Kaegan Miller, Jeffrey Miller, Jacob Miller, Hunter Johnson, Shelly Fisher, Shannon Coppernoll, Shane Coppernoll; her sister Grace (Peter) Joyce; her sister-in-law Cathy Johnson; as well as several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Aside from her parents, the late Felix, Sr. and Bertha, Betty was predeceased by her loving daughters, Shelia Jodoin and Sheri Humphrey; her brothers, Roland Johnson, Wellington Johnson, Earl Johnson and Felix Johnson Jr.; her sisters, Eva Blood, Beatrice Watroba, Mildred Johnson, Della Baker, Janet Warner, Rose Johnson; and her grandson, Harvey Humphrey, Jr.
Betty will be missed by many. The family is extremely grateful to each and every person who has helped her through the years, with deepest gratitude to her Lexington ARC family at Rosewood for the years of kindness and care provided to their beloved mother.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 7th, 2025 at 12 noon at Betz, Rossi, Bellinger and Stewart, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville NY 12078. Calling hours will be held prior from 10am-12 noon. Arrangements have been entrusted to Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Homes.
