Love through charity to family, and to friends. Actions speak louder than words and Mom’s continuous doing and giving had merit and love in every breath.

The Walther Family celebrates Barbara E Walther, their Mother of 94 years old, and formerly of Elk Grove Village, IL, as she passed away peacefully on Sunday October 13, 2024. 

Barbara was the last of eight children with roots in Hibbing MN. The family moved to the Chicago area where she met Owen Walther in high school and in marriage they raised eight children of their own. Barbara’s dedication to family was immeasurable and everlasting, with God’s favor and graces she was amazing at her motherly craft—and more than special in her daily cares and concerns of each family member through endless meals, birthdays, holidays, and so on, each day, bringing family together.Barbara was the beloved wife of 63 years to Owen Franches; The loving mother of Owen (Dan), Steve, the late Brian (Terri), Kevin, Sue (Gene) Germain, Sharon (Mike) Mikulan, Daniel, Judy (Bob) Lutowsky; The loving Grandmother of Stevie, Rudi, Marc, Alek, Valerie, Tom, Laura, Jeff, Shari, Sara, Samantha, Mike, Jake, Jessie, Brandon, Jason, Brittany, Jamie, Kevin, and Amy; and The loving Great Grandmother of Keegan, Kloe, Salem, Melanie, Julia, Stella, Stella, and Avery. Barb, Mom, Aunt Barb, Grandma, friend ..… she also leaves behind an abundance of loving family members and cherished friends. A Funeral Service will be held at 10 AM on Friday November 8 at: Queen of the Rosary Church, 750 W. Elk Grove Blvd Elk Grove Village IL 60007.
