Barbara A. Sargalis

Barbara A. Sargalis, was born on August 10, 1943 in Scotia, New York where she graduated from high school. She spent her adult life in Johnstown, NY.

She passed away on June 8, 2025 after a short battle with cancer.  The daughter to the late Frank and Ella Mae (Pangburn) Hildreth.  She was predeceased by her late husband Bernard (Butch) Sargalis, her sister Betty Mae Belli, Brother Merritt (Whitey) and Leon (Skip) Hildreth.  She is survived by her son John (Wendy) Sargalis. Grandchildren; Todd Sargalis, Justin Sargalis, Kimberly Sargalis (Millard) and Andrew Millard, tiffany Sargalis, sister in laws Patricia Petteys, Kathleen Yurkewecz, Arleen Burgess & Janet Zilka.  Great Grandchildren Carter Sargalis, Harper Mosher, Abigail Millard & Elizabeth Adjei.  Her sibling

Charles Hildreth, Marion Rounds, Shirley Rue and Albert (Nancy) Hildreth.

She was employed by Price Shopper for over 40 years.  She started her career at Central Markets on Edson Street in Amsterdam as a head bookkeeper.

She was very talented with her crocheting.  She also enjoyed dancing, going to the Rodeo and watching her grandchildren whether it be for soccer or going to Beauty Pageants or dance competitions.  She always spoke highly of her niece’s and nephews of their accomplishments in life.

Viewing will be Thursday, June 12th from 6 to 8 pm at Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Homes, 15 Main Street, Fultonville, NY  Funeral Services will take place June 13th at the funeral home.  Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Fonda, NY
