Barbara (Keller) Castiglione, 73, passed away on the 24th of December, 2024 at her home in Gloversville after celebrating Christmas Eve with her family.
The eldest daughter of the late William L. Keller Jr. and Olga Ralbovsky Keller, Barbara was born on October 31st, 1951 in Gloversville, New York. A graduate of Fonda-Fultonville Central School, Barbara continued her education and attended Bay Path Junior College and Seton Hall University. After living in Atlanta, Georgia for a few years post-college, she returned back home and worked in the credit department of Kasson and Keller/Keymark Corporation.In 1979, she married the late Dr. Louis Castiglione Jr. at the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Gloversville, whom she shared 34 years of marriage with until his passing in 2013. Barbara continued to work until the arrival of her children, at which time she became a stay-at-home Mom. Her love of family was at the center of everything she did; from the food she made, the parties and celebrations she held, to the holiday experiences she orchestrated for those she loved. She later worked assisting her husband at his business, Castiglione Jewelers, and supporting different volunteer activities and causes in the area.
Barbara is survived by her sons Matthew Castiglione and Andrew Castiglione (Kaleena); her grandsons, Riley Barnes, Oliver Castiglione and Nolan Castiglione; her sister Susan Duross (Glenn); her brothers William L. Keller III (Maria), and James Keller (Jennifer); her nieces Christine Eby (Robert), Megan Sanders (Andrew), Kassandra Spencer (Garrick), Madison Keller, Angela Fattoruso (Frank), and Cecelia Keller; her nephews James Keller (Jennifer), Richard Duross (Monica), John Keller (Megan), Schuyler Duross (Ashley), William L. Keller IV, and Nicolas Keller; her cousins, extended family, dear friends and her constant companion Charly.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Monday, December 30th, 2024 at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 153 S. Main Street, Gloversville with a viewing prior to Mass beginning at 10:00am. Barbara will be interred next to her husband at Mount Carmel Cemetery in the Spring of 2025. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Barbara's memory to the Nathan Littauer Hospital Foundation, 99 East State Street, Gloversville NY 12078, or to the Church of the Holy Spirit, 153 S. Main Street, Gloversville, NY 12078. The Family wishes to thank her health aides, who's care and attention allowed her to remain at home.
