Your light shines on in our hearts

On the morning of April 4,2025, “Ruby Ruth E Thomas, passed away peacefully at her home in Tuscaloosa, Alabama at the age of 92.

She was born on July 7, 1932 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She married the love of her life, Matthew Maxwell Thomas, at the age of 18 and traveled with him world-wide as he pursued a 20- year career in the United States Air Force.

Throughout these military assignments, Ruby became a self-taught accountant and worked for several companies. She last worked as a Student Administrator for the University of Alabama, and after retiring, she accompanied her husband as he completed 20 years of service with the Federal Aviation Administration. Ruby was known among her family and friends for making delicious meals and great desserts.

She is survived by her sister, LouEllen Carrell, brother, Vincent Keith Bolden and sisters-in-law, Linda Johnson and Sonya Crouch.
