Robert Leo Bender

Robert Leo Bender, aged 95, passed away on May 3, 2025, at Cura Care Center in Willmar, MN where he had been residing for the last month. He was born on February 15, 1930, in Mitchell, SD, to Emil and Marie Bender. He lived in the Pennock, MN area all of his life after his parents moved to the area when he was a child. Robert farmed with his brother Delbert for 40 years on their farm near Pennock, after which he was in the trucking business with his son Pablo. Robert’s strengths were a strong work ethic and a great sense of humor, even in the face of adversity. He was preceeded in death by his daughter Cheryl, first wife Leona, and second wife Gloria. He is survived by two sisters; Ruth (Erv) and Emilee (Roger), a sister-in-law Gail, two sons; Larry (Dawn) and Pablo, 7 grandchildren, and 25 great grandchildren.
