Patricia Davis Black

Pat Davis Black passed away at home on Sunday, July 13, 2025. She was born September 3, 1942, to the late Earle and Mary Davis of Charlotte, NC. She was married for 27 years to the late Gary R. Black. After living in Florida for about 15 years, they moved back to Charlotte and continued their avid love of UNC football and basketball and getting to know their hometown all over again. Pat worked after coming back to Charlotte for Rexham and then continued to attend UNC games as often as possible after Gary’s death and as long as she was able. Pat was a Presbyterian elder and church was always a big part of her life as well.

Pat was pre-deceased by a sister, Sandra Davis Shanklin in 2023. Survivors include her son, Gary, of the home, and a sister, Nancy E. Davis, a brother-in-law, Richard Shanklin, three nephews, Josh Mullen, Matthew Mullen, and Will Shanklin and their families.
