Michael Eugene Davis was born April 17, 1961, to Marteen and Eugene Davis in Boston, Massachusetts. He transitioned unexpectedly from this plane of existence on September 22, 2023. Raised in Roxbury, Massachusetts, he harbored a deep love and passion for fire trucks and swimming. His high school years at Madison Park High School saw him appointed as captain of the swim team and he was a state champion. He showcased his leadership skills and talents on the football field as quarterback and wide receiver, and proudly graduated in 1980. His life consisted of numerous remarkable achievements, accolades, titles, and positions. Michael answered the call of duty when he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on August 28, 1980. He served as a Corrections Specialist and was honorably discharged on February 29, 1984. His commitment to service continued as he worked for the Boston Housing Authority and School Police from May 1984 to July 1986. In 1988, Michael made history as the first Black firefighter to join the Quincy Fire Department. In 1990, he transferred to the Boston Fire Department where he built an illustrious and storied career. He was featured in many news articles and tv stories, for his consistent displays of heroism ad bravery. He fearlessly rode ladder and engine trucks, battled blazes, scaled buildings, and saved countless lives. In May 2009, he was founder and President of The Red Knights Motorcycle Club, Massachusetts Chapter 15. He was also a proud Buffalo Soldier. After 35 years of unwavering service to the City he loved dearly, he retired in July 2021. Michael epitomized heroism, leadership, service before self, and the Devil Dog ethos; Semper Fidelis, Always Faithful.
