Eugene Walker, age 73, of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.

A devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, and grandfather, Eugene will be remembered for his steady presence, quiet strength, and unwavering love for his family. He was the beloved husband of Brenda McEwen Walker and a proud father to Styrone Walker (Tranese Walker). Eugene’s legacy continues through his many grandchildren, great-nieces, and great-nephews, who brought him endless joy.

He is also survived by his siblings Marshelle Nelson, Melissa Dixon, Markita Gilliam, and Benjamin Walker, as well as nieces and nephews Jonah Walker, Serene Smith, Jadon Smith, Mariah Smith, and Leslie Walker, all of whom cherished his wisdom, warmth, and gentle humor.

Eugene’s roots in Memphis ran deep, and so did his love for the community and the people in it. He lived a life of quiet dignity, marked by generosity and care for others.

He will be dearly missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who loved him.
