Obituary

Allan Taylor, 93, of Fultonville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at Albany Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

Born on July 24, 1931, in Brooklyn, New York, Allan lived a life full of dedication, service, and love. He was the cherished son of the late Joseph and Esther (Lammey) Taylor.

Allan's unwavering faith was evident in his lifelong membership of the Reformed Church and over 60 years of service as both Elder and Deacon at the Glen Reformed Church.

Allan was the owner and operator of Taylor's Valley Farm from 1964 to 2010. His commitment to community service was equally remarkable, retiring in 1992 from the Fultonville Post Office.  Allan was a proud member of the Unity Masonic Lodge #79 and Order of the Eastern Star. His involvement extended to the Glen Grange, the Schoharie County Sheep Association, the Town of Glen Republican Committee, the Erie-Lackawanna Historical Society, and the American Legion. Allan's patriotism was exemplified by his service in the United States Army from 1951 to 1953.  He served as a Town of Glen Election Inspector and on the Town of Glen Board of Review of Assessments. His compassionate nature led him to serve as Chaplain for both the Glen-Mohawk Seniors and the Tribes Hill Iroquois Seniors.

Allan leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Olive (Hensel) Taylor; his daughter, Kayleen Snow (Nathaniel); his son, Frederick Taylor (Jenn); and his adored grandchildren Cedric "Gus" Snow, Sheridan Taylor, Aidan Snow, Sheyanne Taylor, and Jayden Taylor.
